Introduction

After Earthquake of 2005, the Government has made appropriate legal and institutional arrangements for disaster management in the country.The whole disaster management system is currently being governed under the National Disaster Management Ordinance, 2007. Under the Ordinance, the National Disaster Management Commission (NDMC), headed by the Prime Minister is the apex policy making body at the Federal level. NDMA acts as the executive arm of the NDMC, responsible for implementation, monitoring and coordination of National policies, strategies and plans.

The aim of this Disaster Risk Management Plan is to provide a framework through which an integrated quick response is generated, , implemented and sustained to minimize and contain the damage caused to public property and human life in face of a disaster.
